Fikcyjny wątek będący osią fabuły ustawia film w kategorii sensacyjnej niż biograficznego obrazu, do jakiego przyzwyczaiła nas kinematografia opowiadająca historie muzyków. Mam mieszane uczucia, ale są fajne momenty i przede wszystkim chyba nieźle uchwycony klimat New Yorku lat 70. Miles był ekscentryczny, więc chyba autor filmu wyszedł z założenia, że filmowa biografia też powinna być ekscentryczna.
W finałowej scenie oprócz Herbie Hancock’a czy Wayne Shorter’a pojawia się Gary Clark Jr. grając krótkie solo na gitarze.
