Jedyna z niewielu (można jeszcze znaleźć 16 stronicową wkładkę z 1992 roku do czasopisma „Tylko Rock” o zespole DS) i za razem najobszerniejsza publikacja wydana w języku polskim dotycząca twórczości zespołu Dire Straits i Marka Knopfler. Jest to tłumaczenie wydanej w UK książki autorstwa Michaela Oldfielda z 1984, uzupełnionej o lata 1984-93 przez Jana Skaradzińskiego.
Nie jest to opasła kniga przypominająca obecnie wydawane publikację na temat zespołów rockowych. Jednak na nie co ponad 100 stronach mamy mimo dość telegraficznego skrótu, opisane chronologicznie najważniejsze fakty z życia zespołu bez większego rozpisywania się o plotkach z życia prywatnego. Atutem jest sposób narracji książki, opierający się o cytaty i wypowiedzi muzyków oraz osób związanych z zespołem. Publikacja wzbogacona jest kilkunastoma zdjęciami oraz wykazem dyskografii Dire Straits, Marka Knopflera i Johna Islley (oczywiście obecnie już mocno nie aktualna).
Mimo to, co sugeruje zdjęcie etykietki z mojego egzemplarza, który został zakupiony już dość dawno książka obecnie jest często do kupienia na popularnym portalu aukcyjnym za bardzo małe pieniądze.
Mark Knopfler: "Jeśli dożyję do sześćdziesiątki lub nawet sześćdziesięciu pięciu lat, to pewnego dnia powiem do żony: „Kochanie, wychodzę pograć z chłopakami”. I pójdę do pubu za rogiem, wypiję z kumplami szklankę wina albo piwa, a potem sobie pogramy… Chciałbym zestarzeć się w zespole o nazwie Sultans of Swing. Nie wiem tylko, co będziemy grać. Prawdopodobnie coś starego. I prawdopodobnie nie będziemy brzmieć jak jakaś dziwna mutacja Weather Report. Na pewno tak będzie."
