Lance Lopez to solidny bluesrockowy zawodnik i miło znów go posłuchać. Claptona z Marsalisem jakoś nie ogarniam, dixieland jest zbyt retro nawet jak dla mnie. Steve Hill ok, choć wciąż wolę jego amerykańskich konkurentów. Na koniec zyskująca na popularności Joanne Shaw Taylor, która potwierdziła pewne moje obawy. Do tej pory wytwórnia Ruf wydawała mi się gwarancją wysokiego poziomu (choć nie zawsze oczywiście trafiała w mój prywatny gust), ale powoli nabieram wątpliwości. Wierzę, że hasło "Girls with guitars" zostało ukute dla promowania utalentowanych dam, ale chyba w którymś momencie Thomas R. postanowił pospiesznie zdyskontować sobie jego nośność. Pani Joanne zaprezentowała schematyczny gitarowy bluesrock, w dodatku z nieciekawym śpiewaniem (chyba celowo przykrytym w miksie). Ani uroku Sue Foley, ani siły głosu Carolyn Wonderland, ani oryginalności Any Popovic, najbardziej brak mi tu wdzięcznych pierwiastków, które zwykle kobiety wnoszą do tej męskiej muzyki. Włączyłem sobie zaraz po audycji debitancki krążek "Hush!" Any Popovic. Powstrzymam się od mocnych słów (but młodej Serbki wystarczająco lśni na okładce), ale porównanie naprawdę mocno na korzyść Any.
