Dla mnie ta płyta to absolutne piękno i przekonuję się do tego ilekroć do niej wracam (a fakt, że robię to często sam o czymś świadczy).
Pomimo, wydawałoby się, odmienności charakterów i muzyki tworzonej przez duet Plant/Krauss, na płycie czuć totalną symbiozę tej dwójki. Elektryzujące duety, pokaz kunsztu wokalnego każdego z nich, choćby Plant w "Polly Come Home", napisanej przez Gene Clark'a czy Alison w "Trampled Rose" - coverze Toma Waitsa zawartym na płycie. W magiczny sposób przeplata się na tym albumie klimat bluegrassowy i rockowy. Wraz z producentem T-Bone Burnettem Robertowi i Alison udało się uzyskać charakterystyczne głębokie brzmienie z silnie zaznaczoną akustyczną sekcją rytmiczną, wykorzystując instrumenty charakterystyczne dla obojga muzyków.
Niezwykle ucieszyły mnie liczne nagrody Grammy 2009, jakie "Raising Sand otrzymała. Rzadko bowiem zdarzają się albumy do tego stopnia przepełnione naturalnością i czułością wobec muzyki. Po obejrzeniu kilku próbek live, wierzę też, że te efekty wynikają z miłości i wzajemnego zrozumienia pary muzyków. Wystarczy zobaczyć, jak oni na siebie patrzą...
Polecam tym, którzy spóźnili się na premierę albumu. Zawsze jest dobry moment, żeby nadrobić zaległości, a wydaje mi się, że ten kawałek muzyki można zaliczyć do dużych osiągnięć naszego wieku w tej dziedzinie.
