We wrześniu ma się ukazać płyta Davida Gilmoura : Live In Gdańsk, z koncertu w Stoczni Gdańskiej w 2006 roku.

Materiał, jak informuje oficjalna witryna Davida Gilmoura, będzie nosić tytuł "Live In Gdańsk". Na Zachodzie wydawcą albumu będzie wytwórnia Columbia Records.

Na wydawnictwie ma się znaleźć koncert artysty z 26 sierpnia 2006 roku, który odbył się na terenie Stoczni Gdańskiej i upamiętniał obchody 26. rocznicy podpisania Porozumień Sierpniowych. Ponad dwugodzinny występ Gilmoura podziwiało około 50 tys. fanów. Brytyjczyk wystąpił wówczas z towarzyszeniem 40-osobowej sekcji smyczkowej orkiestry Filharmonii Bałtyckiej, którą dyrygował Zbigniew Preisner. Na scenie pojawił się również Leszek Możdżer (w utworze "A Great Day For Freedom", do którego aranżacje orkiestrowe napisał Michael Kamen). Obaj polscy muzycy byli gośćmi na krążku "On An Island" z 2006 roku, który David Gilmour promował w Polsce i za który otrzymał w naszym kraju złotą płytę.

W Gdańsku Davidowi Gilmourowi towarzyszyli na scenie: Richard Wright - klawiszowiec i wokalista Pink Floyd, Phil Manzanera - gitarzysta i wokalista Roxy Music, Guy Pratt - basista Pink Floyd i Roxy Music, Jon Carin - klawiszowiec i wokalista Pink Floyd, Steve Di Stanislao - perkusja, znany z duetu Crosby And Nash, Dick Parry - saksofonista i wieloletni współpracownik Pink Floyd.

Further details about the forthcoming David Gilmour live album, Live In Gdansk, have been revealed.

We reported last month that the album was due in September, but now we have the full (and very, very exciting) details about the release.

Live In Gdansk is released on 15 September and is a double disc album featuring performances of both solo and Pink Floyd tracks backed by a full orchestra. It was the only date on the On An Island tour where an orchestra was used.

There is an accompanying DVD to go with the album, featuring the spectacularly shot two hour performance in the shipyards of Gdansk in front of 50,000 people.

And there’s a real treat for collectors here, as there is a wide range of other formats, special editions and deluxe editions with 2, 3, 4 and 5 disc sets available.

Here’s what your money could get you:

• 2CD Edition
• 3 Disc Edition – 2CDs & 1DVD with the album and the concert DVD
• 4 Disc Edition – 2CDs & 2DVDs with the album, concert DVD and Extras DVD featuring unreleased “Barn Jam” performances and 5.1 surround version of On An Island
• 5 Disc Deluxe Box Set – 2CD & 2DVD with all of the above plus a bonus 12 track CD of performances from the 2006 tour.
