Ta płyta, choć przecież nie odkrywcza, jest dla mnie swoistym zaskoczeniem. Bo o to bracia Robinson i spółka po raz kolejny udowadniają, że nie trzeba silić się na odkrywanie nowych muzycznych ścieżek, otwierać wcale przecież niezamkniętych drzwi do świata jedynie prawdziwych dźwięków. Wśród wszechobecnej tandety i tendencji do odcinania kuponów od nie zawsze uzasadnienie zdobytej sławy, THE BLACK CROWES grają po prostu swojego rock’n’roll’a. Tylko i aż tyle. Album „Warpaint” to 11 różnorodnych kompozycji utrzymanych w stylistyce pierwszych płyt zespołu. Dużo fantastycznych gitar, genialne klawisze i hipnotyzujący rytm sekcji. Rhytm’n’blues, country, może nawet folk, a wszystko to przyprawione południem Stanów Zjednoczonych w wydaniu Czarnych Kruków.
Grają już dla nas od blisko ćwierć wieku. Niech grają jak najdłużej, bo właśnie takiej muzyki chce mi się słuchać na wiosnę!
