Jako prenumerator pisma Twój Blues otrzymałem płytę zespołu. Nazwa Teenage Beat znana mi była raczej platonicznie. Wiedziałem że jest tam zdolny harmonijkarz , że grają skocznego kalifornijskiego bluesa i tyle. Nie jestem miłośnikiem takiego brzmienia dlatego nawet internetowej strony zespołu nie odwiedzałem, nie mówiąc o tym że nie dane mi było słyszeć ich na żywo. Płytę zdążyłem przesłuchać kilka razy i mówiąc w skrócie podoba mi się. Niezwykle stylowe granie, cudna harmoszka, wyborna gitara, sekcja bez zarzutu, realizacja nagrań bardzo dobra. Jak wspomniałem wyżej nie jestem specjalnie miłośnikiem west coast bluesa dlatego tym większy jest to plus dla zespołu że pomimo tego zdołali przekonać mnie do swojej twórczości.
Ale żeby nie było za słodko mam też kilka krytycznych uwag. Najsłabszą stroną płyty jest bez wątpienia wokal. Łukasz zdecydowanie najlepiej wypada w angielskojęzycznych utworach. W tych po polsku dają znać pewne problemy w tym i z dykcją (irytujące przeciąganie Ę w słowie będę). Są utwory zaśpiewane całkiem dobrze (np. 5, 6, 8 ) ale i znacznie słabsze (np. 1,10). W paru miejscach aż się prosi o chórki , nawet takie najprostsze szorstkie i nieokrzesane. Najdobitniej słychać to w otwierającym płytę numerze. Słysząc płytę pierwszy raz bardzo się zdziwiłem że brak jest powtórzonej przez chórek za wokalistą frazy Ciebieee nie maaa (sam to muszę dośpiewywać). Jednym słowem Łukasz powinien tyle samo czasu co na ćwiczenia z harmoszka poświęcić na wokal.
Ogólnie płyta bardzo dobra , słucha się jest z dużą przyjemnością a gitarzysta jest dla mnie całkowitym i bardzo przyjemnym odkryciem.
