Jeśli na starych progach grało Ci się dobrze, to powinieneś wymienić je na jaknajbardziej zbliżone do nich profilem, lutnik sam to oceni i dobierze odpowiednie, oczywiście możesz sobie zażyczyć wyższych, niższych, węższych, soczewkowych... Ale odradzam bardzo drastyczne zmiany, np big jumbo, czy jakieś progi basowe zamiast cieniutkich typu vintage, bo możesz nie poczuć, że to wciąż ten sam instrument i się do niego zniechęcić.
Jeśli lutnik wymieni, bądź wyrówna stare progi, to akcję strun będzie trzeba nieco poprawić, ale o to lutnik też powinien zadbać.
