THE ROLLING STONES - "Stripped"

Choć nie zaliczam się do bezkrytycznych wielbicieli Stonsów, to w odwiecznym sporze o prymat w historii światowego rock’n’rolla, jaki toczą ze sobą fani Micka Jaggera i spółki właśnie z niekoniecznie rozhisteryzowanymi ich odpowiednikami, hołdującymi czwórce z Liverpoolu, opowiedziałbym się po stronie tych pierwszych.
Gdybym w podróż gdzieś daleko dane mi było zabrać tylko jeden ich album, byłaby to właśnie ta płyta. Płyta już nie najnowsza, ale odstająca przecież od sztywnego kanonu „lektur” obowiązkowych, firmowanych wywalonym na wierzch czerwonym jęzorem. Dlaczego ona właśnie? Bo jest piękna! Bo świetnie brzmią zagrane na nowo, w większości przy użyciu akustycznych instrumentów, stare hity zespołu. Bo dużo jest tutaj prawdziwego bluesa. Bo cudnie gra slidem Ronnie Wood. Bo w sposób jemu tylko charakterystyczny w kilku utworach na instrumentach klawiszowych, nie po raz pierwszy zresztą i nie ostatni, Stonsów wspomaga Chuck Leavell. Bo słychać, że rock’n’rollowi dziadkowie wciąż nieskrępowanie bawią się muzyką.
Magicznie musiało być wtedy na koncertach w amsterdamskim The Paradiso Club, paryskim The Olympia Theatre i na próbach w Tokio i Lizbonie. Ale magicznie, dzięki tej płycie i zaczarowanej wersji Wild Horses chociażby, bywa i u mnie w domu!
