Zaciekawiła mnie ta płyta, jak tylko się ukazała i w Trójce poleciało parę numerów (Manniak i chyba ktoś jeszcze to grał). Teoretycznie to rzecz w sam raz dla mnie. Lubię Ritenoura, może nie tak, jak Carltona, ale jednak lubię. Cieszy, że sporo bluesa, że goście i że wreszcie Lee nie programuje sam perkusji i klawiszy, czym mnie odstraszał od niektórych solowych płyt (Larry C. zresztą też). Ale jeszcze się wstrzymałem z zakupem, bo tych gości trochę dużo jak dla mnie. Większość z nich mam, lub miałem na płytach w swojej kolekcji, stylistycznie wszystko się łapie do moich muzycznych okolic, ale czy ja chcę niektórych z tych gitarzystów słuchać jednego po drugim? Czy poza zbiorowym popisem wirtuozerii i erudycji zgromadzonych jest tu też jakiś spójny klimat? Czy da się emocjonalnie zaangażować w słuchanie tego i odpłynąć, czy tylko kręcić głową z podziwem dla kunsztu? Żastanawiam się, ale po tej recenzji coraz bardziej kusi. Ciekaw jestem między innymi Neala Schona poza kontekstem Journey, bo wiem, że stać go na znacznie wiecej niż tam pokazuje.
